President Peeta Mellark (Liberty-D12) has named Sherri Holmes, the Panem Solicitor General, as his nominee to the open spot on the Court of Appeals for the Capitol Circuit.
Holmes, a resident of the Capitol, has served as Solicitor General of Panem for the past three years under President Mellark, presenting cases on behalf of the federal government to the Panem Supreme Court. Several of these cases were notable, especially those on national security topics. Holmes must be approved by the Senate to begin her tenure on the Court.
According to our sources, President Mellark has already begun interviewing candidates for the soon-to-be-vacated Solicitor General post. However, there is no definite frontrunner, though multiple names have been mentioned such as Senator Hanley Trent (Liberty-D12), Cecelia Paylor (Civic-D8), and others.
