Melanie DeFrancis to be next presidential Chief of Staff; to be replaced by communications director Janet Wesson

Melanie DeFrancis, the press secretary for the Mellark administration, has been promoted to the position of Chief of Staff by President Peeta Mellark (Liberty-D12) following the resignation of Harold Cersisa as Cersisa becomes the governor of District 4.

DeFrancis is the former editor-in-chief of The Panem Free Press and has been noted for her time in the press corps and as both communications director and press secretary for Mellark’s campaign for president. melanie-defrancis-2DeFrancis had been assuming more and more of a role akin to deputy chief of staff when Cersisa had made a decision to run and assumed his duties when he took an official leave of absence to campaign.

Communications director Janet Wesson will assume the role of press secretary permanently following DeFrancis’s elevation to chief of staff.
