The President of Panem, Peeta Mellark (Liberty-D12), indicated through Press Secretary Melanie DeFrancis today that he would deliver an address to a joint session of Congress, to be attended by all three branches of the federal government. This address, the first of its kind without any sort of declaration of war as its centerpiece, will also be broadcast in primetime for the viewers of Panem.
Though it is unknown what will be discussed in this speech, the Press Secretary referred to the speech as a “State of the Nation” speech that will be the first of four in the President’s term, one each year that he is in office. Potential topics may include his education plan, the progress in the war against the Oceanian Empire, and further objectives of the administration.
